hotwired007 Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Hi all - i'm looking at uying a couple of the HP DL385 G6 servers - 2x Opteron 2435 (6x 2.6Ghz) & 40GB DDR2 PC2-6400 and loading it with a couple of 146GB drives... a couple of the companies i'm dealing with are recommending Xeon based units... these are only quad core BUT they have DDR3 ram... is the extra two cores worth loosing for the extra RAM speed? Cheers
Soulfish Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Just get the DL385 G7 with Dual 8 or 12-core AMD's They also now run DDR3.
