i have been playing with mdt2010 to try and deploy an xp image. Added the os and driver files into deployment workbench and created a task bit when run all i get after filling in the screens is

disk 0 was not found. unable to continue

possible cause: missing storage driver

now its a fairly standard pc (fujitsu e2500 if it helps)im fiddling with and i dont remember xp needing any sata drivers to install (though i might of used a disk with drivers in i dont remember ever adding any via drivers to a cd intel/ati/nvidia yes via no)

when in drops out and back to command prompt diskpart confirms no fixed drives any ideas?

also if i alter a task sequence do i need to rebuild the wim file from the deployment share

If the machine is set to native mode for the sata and not ide emulation then you will need to add the drivers for the storage controller into MDT 2010 out of box drviers.

Then right click at the top of your deployment share and select update, this will incporporate the drviers into the lite touch boot image.

Import this image into wds replacing the old one and try that.

If you alter the task sequence you don't need to rebuild the boot sourse only if you add any drivers that need to be included.

well it now works and all ive done is leave it alone for a few weeks (and changed the windows key) now i just need to play with it a bit more so it deploys mp11/ie8 possibly some updates and preferably asks fewer questions on install (and dosent think that the pcs is localized for usa)

Any idea how you got MDT working with the E2500's.

No matter what i do MDT can't find the drive to install on.

Tried as many different drivers as i can find but still no luck.

Not had any problems with any other machines, just these damn fujitsu E2500's

Ta for that. Started using it for windows 7 deploy, not brill but run better than xp.

Thought it could be that, I added all the drivers I own to the deploy share and still no luck.

No worries if not though, will use a wds image if needs be

Thanks again
