fiza Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I have XIBO set up to have an internal RSS Feed which is working great. What I want to do is to have the School Secretary update the RSS content on a daily basis. Is there an easy way for a non-IT literate person to do this? Can you get the content for the RSS from, say, a text file? She could then put the content in the text file without worrying about any kind of html/rss code. Any ideas?
SteveBentley Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Much easier to set up a blog and have her update that, or even a Twitter account depending on the kind of content you want to put on there. Then have XIBO use the blog or twitter RSS feed. WordPress.com — Get a Free Blog Here do free hosted blogs which are pretty decent if you don't want to go to the trouble of hosting it yourself.
Arthur Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 As Steve said, I reckon a blog would be the best option. Both Tumblr and Posterous are very easy to use (assuming you don't mind it being accessible externally). With the latter all she would have to do is send an e-mail to [email protected] each time she wants to add new content. I don't think you could get much simpler than that.
