Got a strange one for you.

We are trying to set up our new Vostro 1520 laptops.

We have two HP Procurve 420's covering our DT rooms. I have set a Vostro 1520 up with WinXP and it can only see one of the two access points. All the other laptops(A mixture of HP and Fujitsu's) can see both of the AP's fine.

So I thought it was something I had done when setting up for XP. So I got another of our Vostro 1520 and powered it up and just let it go through the Win 7 setup bit when it got to the wifi part it can only see one of the access points.

Both of the Vostro 1520's I have tried so far are failing to see the same access point.

Whats going on here and how do I fix it?

A bit of a guess would be that you have one AP set in a channel the laptop wifi card either isn't capable or isn't set to see. Eg do you have one set to an 802.11a channel and the client is 802.11bg only? Or do you have an ap set to channel 13 yet the country code on the wifi card can only see channels 1 to 11?
