North Yorkshire RBL (YHgfL?) - packet loss and connectivity nightmare

This is a reality check more than anything else but I was wondering if anyone else with schools in the North Yorkshire region are having problems with their broadband setup...

 

For the past month now I've been seeing massive packet loss and general connectivity issues that initially I put down to multimedia player issues but have since discovered seem to be down to really poor net connectivity. This is despite the North Yorks net hard wire connection that was put in last year...

 

Anyone got any information as to whether they are in the same boat, what's going on or similar... I have lynch mobs in each of my schools wanting to "have a chat" or simply get more information..

It gets better... I've just tried to ring SchoolICT here and all the tech support and sales lines are reporting that they are closed...

 

Can I just check that it is actually before 4pm? or is everyone here in some kind of mass hallucination and four hours behind... ?!!!

 

 

EDIT: Been ringing the old number... Weird way of telling people the number has changed though??

Ok... I'll answer my own question... as I expect someone else is in the same boat but unaware...

 

Apparently it's not packet loss per se' as the packets are "eventually delivered" but they can take up to 10 minutes or more in some cases... Splitting some mighty fine hairs I reckon...

 

Either way resources are being chucked at it like mad and they're trying to find the problem... Not exactly looking good for Bull... but I have to admit it sounds a lot like someone has got a poisoned DNS in there somewhere that's causing mayhem...
