Hi,

I've made serveral attempts to try and capture and deploy a Windows 7 image for SCCM.

The last attempt I was successful in capturing the image (using a HP dc7800p) but when I deploy the image it gets as far as transfer the image then fails when it applies it.

Has anyone been successful in making a Windows 7 image in SCCM?

As Windows 7 is very new the idea is that I make one image and it will cover nearly every machine that we have to date.

are you doing light touch installs or no touch installs?

I found with light touch it zips along nicely, but no touch stalls where you are getting too.

If all else fails, make your main image, install W7 on all machines and duplicate the image across all machines!

The problem with SCCM is there are so many areas it could be failing for you, as nephilim asks where do you get up to? Is is an SCCM deploy or MDT (lots of option differences)? I have found with 7 on HPs (dc7600, dc7700, dc7800, etc) you still need to install the audio driver, but the rest get picked up pretty well.

Here is a link to a site with good guides, worth checking their steps against yours - Deploy Windows 7 - www.windows-noob.com

I think its an SCCM deploy. I'm still very very new to this SCCM, having come from a RM CC3 environment. It's alot to learn!!!

We do have a company that supports us with this but wanted to try and solve this one myself and I find the best way to learn a new system is to just get stuck in there.

I'll try the link you provided _Adam_ it looks promising thanks.

If I do get really stuck I guess I'll resort toour support guys to make an image for me.

Cheers
