Server 2003 / Windows XP

I'm having problems getting my documents to redirect for any pupils.

I have to groups in AD, Pupil and Staff these are in Managed Users.

I have created a Test account in just managed users and it seems to work fine.

In Group Policy the folder redirection is set up to redirect to home directory and this is placed in Managed Users.

Pupils can save work by going My Computer Z: server/ files pupil etc.

but the my documents just will not redirect for any pupils in the group.

I had similar problems some time ago and found the problem was caused by two problems in the GPO settings.

1. Previous technicians had set the redirect target location being set to w:\, our usual home drive, but it is not mapped at the stage the redirect takes place. Once I set it to 'Redirect to the user's home directory' I saw more success, but there were still problems.

2. In settings tab the "Move the contents of My Documents to the new location" was turned on and problems were being caused by permissions of the workstations my documents. Once this was turned off the redirect started working.
