tommej Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 This is a bit of a weird one. Teacher can print from word/excel and everything EXCEPT Outlook. I've applied officer sp2 to no avail, reinstalled the printer. When I hit print on an email I can see it appear in the queue and see "spooling" next to it, then it dissapears and never goes to the printer. I noticed if I try and view a print preview it will open the window and then shut immediately. Teacher was printing fine from Outlook until today. Any ideas?
loucoll-Dave Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 has the member of staff tried to print the said email off on another computer? have you tried deleteing the outlook profile then setting it up again?
tommej Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I've deleted the printer profile file for outlook "outlprint" i think. Printing from another printer isn't really an option here as it's a member of SLT and its a desktop printer via usb in their office.
danrhodes Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I've had this before, it's a fairly simple fix. Log onto the machine as administrator and locate the file MSO.DLL, rename it to MSO.DLL.OLD then open up outlook or any office program, Msiexec will recognise that the file is missing and re-install the DLL. This problem is caused due to exchange cached mode and is a know MS issue, cant recall the KB though. D

Michael Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Does the printer have more than one paper tray? I would check paper sizes too. I would also try another printer as this would eliminate the printer, driver and spooler being the problem. It could point to a profile related problem.
