symantec web security on a go slow

Morning all, i'm having fun and games with symantec web security and i can't work out why, it just seems to take an age to display the login page, i have restarted server, services and had a look at the performance of the server and all seem ok, if i bypass the web security as admin it the net seems ok so its not a connection issue, any ideas??

It appears that i needed to put the school fqdn in the dns suffix in the advanced tcip settings on the network card. I am not sure that they were there prior and it seemed to be working fine for the last three years or more but anyway that solved the problem.
