First I've heard of it to be honest! Just had a quick look on their site and the details are a little thin but it looks like the usual enterprise-grade stuff from Oracle. Big, powerful, but also fairly specific in its target market. Unless you're an Oracle DB/Hardware shop, I'd probably still recommend VMware as the best virtualisation solution.

Oracle virtulisation is based around Xen (like Citrix XenServer) so should be fairly good in that regard. They bought virtual iron a while ago for their management toolset, and being the big company that they are I know they don't want it to fail.

 

Will be interesting to see how they combine the various Sun virtulisation offerings into the mix as well :)
