Dell servers R2 install disc

I have a Dell Reinstallation cd kit. It has server 2003 x64 OS and a second disc with R2 on it.

 

Is the disc pure R2? If so can i use this disc to install R2 on another domain in a different school. They have paid for the R2 disc but have not received the discs yet and i wondered if i can use the Dell disc instead of waiting.

 

The other domain server in the other school is x32

The R2 media sets are just:

Disk 1 Server 2003 SP1 Integrated

Disk 2 R2 updates.

 

My Dell disk although I didnt use it is a proper holgramed MS disk. I however used a Select copy as supplied by our LEA.

 

Oh just noticed the x64 bit and no it wont work with the 32 it will say its the wrong version.

So you are saying that the R2 discs can be x32 and x64?

That is correct I put the wrong disk in and it said something like "The disk has verfied although it is for a different version".

sSo even though you put a x64 version in to a x32 OS it still let you install it?

No 32 for 32 64 for 64.

What about updating hte schema, I have a AD which is all x32 2003 servers. I am about to put a x64 server in the mix.

@Kyle: AFAIK the schema update is common. MS has obviously just done some jiggery pokery to the new apps to make them 64-bit compatible.

Yes the schema is fine. Not even MS would try and pull that kind of trickery meaning you would have to update your servers and hardware to x64.
