We currently have Server 2008 servers.

I have chosen one to run as our WDS server.

It has been running happily with WAIK 1.1 (Vista and 2008) but I have decided to try and make use of Server 2008 R2 images in WDS.

I know I need WAIK 2.0 for this - so I install it and find I then cannot edit any of my existing .wim files.

So my question is - do I need a seperate server for WAIK 1.1 and WAIK 2.0?

If not, then I'm having issues in the fact it will not let me edit images using DISM and if I go back to PEImg it works perfectly okay but I then can't use WDS etc with 2008 R2 as far as I'm aware as the WAIK 2.0 adds Windows SIM support for 2008 R2/Win 7.

Any thoughts?

Azrael78,

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here Windows 7 IT Pro Category . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and guidance.
