Altering a wireless driver inf file

Having big problems with a realtek wireless driver on a samsung machine in another thread and others using same hardware on tosh machines are given mroe control over things like roaming aggressiveness.

 

Now it looks to me that .inf files control which settings are enabled for different manufacturers.

 

Is this true and has anyone hacked one to alter options available to them?
