Blackcat Logo - Runtime Error

I'm getting a runtime error when pupils try and use Blackcat Logo.

 

It works fine when logged in as administrator but it comes up with this error when logged in as pupils:

 

Runtime Error!

 

Program: C:\Program Files\BlackCat\Logo\Logo.exe

 

Abnormal program termination.

 

It's doing it on all of the computers.

I too have just started getting this message from a program we had built and tested and then deployed and tested approx 2 weeks ago, below is the error.

I am wondering if it is a WSUS update that has killed it?

 

 

Will investigate further and see what I come up with.

users dont just need write/modify access to the blackcat folder do they?

I found Blackcat Logo to be too much of a pain to continue with.

 

Discouraged my teachers from using it in favour of the excellent Turtle in Textease Studio CT. However, if you don't have that option I seem to recall that there was a patch available.

 

I believe that the superb Wiltshire based Sherston company now holds the rights to Blackcat and if their Technical Team can't fix any software problem then I'd be amazed.

Happy to report it is a DotNet problem which I have now resolved yehaa!!

Can you share how you got this working?

 

I have come accross the exact same issue and Shareston have advised simply "it will not work with Windows 7".

 

I do have the option of Textease turtle or other online resources but the school want to stick with what they know.
