Silent authentication through Smoothwall Network Guardian?

HI All smoothie users,

I have 10 licenses running at the moment authenticating with AD and would really like the end user not to have to put their deials in manually.

 

Is there a way to make this process transparent to the end user?

Yes - under the guardian menu, there's an authentication submenu.

 

Sounds like you are on "proxy auth". Change that to NTLM, and see if it works straight away. If not, you may need some minor tweakage. It needs a restart of guardian (not a reboot) so do this in downtime NTLM identification will work easiest and is fine if all your PCs are controlled by you.
