Authenticating to a Shared resources folder on Windows automatically?

I'm not sure what I am missing here so I'll explain!

 

I have our macs set up so our ad users can log on and access their home folder on the windows server no problem. I have a problem however when they try to access the shared resources on a second windows server "Server2"

 

If they try to access that server from finder under shared nothing happens, so they click on connect and they are given a log on box. If they log on with their username and password the connection fails BUT if they log in wi9th their username and domain name they can access the folder e.g. user@prentonhigh.

 

So I am missing something probably to do with DNS?

 

Can anyone help on this one?

assuming they have not changed there password in ad isnt there a tickbox for it to remember the login details ?

 

That or on the 2nd server are you able to create one user account that they can all use to authenticate with and just save those login details and make the password not change on that one account ?
