enjay Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 To cut a long story short, I had a PC which was running very slow, not installing new allocated packages, not rebuilding properly and so on. After much messing around swapping cables and network points to rule out infrastructure problems, I got logged in and was presented an error message about AD entries, so settled on rebuilding it with a new name, and it is now happy. Good. The hinky part is that the PC whose network point I borrowed to test the infrastructure is now doing the same thing. Any suggestions?!

Any suggestions?! could it be something as simple as removing it from the domain, and then readding it ? What's Event viewer saying with the PC that now has the problem ?
enjay Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 Faulty cabling? The two PCs are on the same switch, but otherwise all cabling is different; all other PCs on that switch are fine. Also, the second PC was fine until I plugged the first one into its socket.

Haven't checked Event Viewer yet - will get the PC back into my office and have a look...
