He desperately needs a new laptop, as his 'old' Sony is on its last legs. I need to give him some pointers as to what laptops he could be looking at. I haven't got a clue about the latest processors or laptop spec as my last purchase in this field was a Pentium 4 Acer Aspire! Usage is usual Office 2003 apps (inc Access as he has a large database he uses) Outlook, a bit of basic photo editing, email and Internet. He does not game. His budget is £450 tops and I would suggest a 15/16" screen. One of the biggest issues he has, is storage capacity, as he has 1000's and 1000's of photos. Whilst he works off of an external drive too, he is a dreadful hoarder of data, and his laptop drives fill up very quickly. He has a very small window of opportunity in which to buy this laptop next week, so it'll have to be either a very efficient mail order purchase, or somewhere like PC Woed or Comet. Anyone care to fire some manufacturers/model numbers etc at me so I can give him some pointers? Any of you nice supplier people out there that can fulfill a private order? I'll be very grateful ..

Going to buy it from Comet at £449 purely for the convenience. Might put the salesperson through a bit of a price matching contest first though!
