Extricom - Two Radios

Morning all,

 

Could someone give me a 'dumb down' explanation of how to do the following in the Extricom Switch? I've created two SSIDs one for internal use, and another for external use. I can connect to both wireless connections fine. However, I want to be able to get the Internal SSID to go to the Internet through one port on the Firewall (*.*.*.100) and the external on a different port (*.*.*.101).

I don't know the specifics of Extricom systems, but to do this you need to assign each SSID to a specific VLAN, with each one having its own gateway IP set to the one you want.

 

The next issue is, do either of these SSID's intend to go through an internal proxy?

The default gateway which we use as a proxy also is .100, which everyone uses. The switch's Default gateway is set also to .100. I've set the External connection to VLAN 10. I can't see how to set the gateway for the different connection/vlan.

Each VLAN has to have a DHCP-helper (this is a direct assignment of which DHCP server will pass out IPs for that VLAN), which assigns a DHCP scope to that particular VLAN. So, you need a scope set up on your DHCP server which has the gateway set as you want, and a helper set up on the switch which your Extricom stuff is plugged into.

I've tried to work this IP Helper out. However, the switch I'm trying to get to work is an Allied Telesyn AT-8350GB. Can't find IP Helper within the menu :-(.

You need a layer 3 switch/router to do it i'm afraid.
