Domino Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Are you using exchange? or a hosted solution? whats actually happening with the redirect? anything, nothing an error?
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 We are using Exchange 2003 server. it is not giving me any errors. its just that i am not recieving anything on my external accounts. i am using outlook 2010. any idea? thanks
jamesreedersmith Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Are you using the rule function in outlook or setting a redirect in AD or the management consoler?
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Using the rule, which applies to all recieved emails and redirect to people or DL and added my external email address.
jamesreedersmith Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Are you leaving outlook running during your testing because those rules only run when outlook is open?
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 yes i am leaving it running, but i think i will need to do some configuration on the AD so when my outlook is closed it still redirects the emails while keeping a copy in outlook inbox as well.
jamesreedersmith Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Youll be better to set it in AD then, youll need to create a contact for your external mail box and then go into delivery options in AD and set up to forward mail to your contact and leave a copy in the mailbox. THanks James
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 thanks, i will try that and will confirm!
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 where will i find delivery options please? as i cant find them. i have created the account in AD.
Domino Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 SO if on your exchange server you go into AD, you should be able to right click the account that you want the mail redirected from, select properties and delivery options...
jamesreedersmith Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Its on one of the exchange tabs in the ad management tools (assuming you have the exchange management tools installed as well) 1
jamjim Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 James, It is working now. thanks a lot, hope this thread will help some. jam
