Dell E6400 Smartboard / Audio / AC interference

All of our dell E6400 cause interference through external speakers when the Video cable is plugged in, even if the speakers and smartboard are not plugged into the laptop.

 

Im not sure if its due to our setup with all the wall boxes and trunking etc (however no other make/model of laptop exhibits this issue)

 

This issue goes away when you unplug the AC power to the laptop, so it could be an issue with the fact that on this dell the AC inlet is right next to the Video output on the laptop?

 

Is there anything we can get to fix this? Some sort of AC filter or such?

I've had a similar issue with an hp laptop, when the speakers were plugged in there would be a lot of white noise if the AC adaptor was plugged in, it was fine on battery power. As it was only 1 laptop hp swapped out the adaptor and the problem went away. I guess its possible you have a faulty batch of adaptors?
