Vista/7 Fail to Install / Copy Files

Right, Before i go down the route of throwing every IT Related object out the window i am going to post it on here and see if it helps before i really do loose my rag with windows.

 

I have a Original Copy of Windows Vista and a Burnt Copy of Windows 7 Downloaded from TechNet, the copy of windows 7 is an OEM Version that i have used many times in the past to restore family members computers using there OEM Serial Number.

 

anyhow, i have been given a laptop by a member of the family to re-build which is licenced for windows visa home premium, and i have inserted the disk as normal and followed the installation instructions but all it does is get to "Expanding Files" and throws an error on the screen saying:

 

"Windows cannot install required files. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D"

Now, This is happening on 2 different operating systems.. as i am also trying to do the same on my personal windows 7 laptop which i am rebuilding with x64 windows 7 due to the fact i need to use a x64 OS to create some VM's that run x64 Guest Operating Systems.

 

Anyhow, Why on earth are both machines getting the exactly the same state and throwing up this error, 2 completly different version of OS and both of which have worked in the past

 

I could put it down to a bad download on the windows 7, but i have downloaed it 3 times now and using a download manager the 3rd time round and burnt it to different disks... the Windows Vista is kept in a case and does not have any scratches on it.

 

Please Help EduTech before i really do loose my rag I'm tired and it's not helping..

Yeah i have tried

 

• Formatting the Hard Disk
  
• Setting the BIOS to Default
  
• Re-Seating RAM
  
• External CD/DVD Drive
  
• Re-Seating Hard Drive
  
• Created new version of Windows 7 on Low Burn Speed
  
• Run Disk Clean on HD's
  
• Boot's and Installs Linus (Unbuntu) Fine
  

 

Still no joy!

Isnt that everything that has been invented in the last 50 years, both electrical, mechanical, anything with a plug, anythign with batteries, anything with buttons, oh and shoes, books, carpets, ladders, ... the list goes on..
