Solutions Inc are putting on an XServe seminar on Thursday 9th November. Details are below and registration is available from here

Apple

Pete Dunn (Apple UK) will present a comprehensive overview of the latest Xserve & Xserve RAID technologies, existing server software and a preview of "Leopard" server software - due for release next year. He will explain how, with it's vastly improved architecture (up to 5x faster performance than Xserve G5) and it's huge capacity (maximum 32GB RAM and up to 2.25TB drive space), the new Xserve range offers unrivalled performance and value.

He will also demonstrate why Apple's Xserve RAID with it's enormous maximum capacity of 7TB, 14 hot swappable drives, fibre channel interface, dual controllers and easy management tools, offers extremely cost effective, platform independent, robust, resilient data storage.

Solutions inc.

Our own server specialist Leo Manning-Jones will explain how we go about specifying a server solution to suit your individual requirements. This will feature fast network delivery via ethernet & fibre, back-up systems and strategies, installation, service & support. He will talk about a number of real world examples ranging from creative file servers to application servers, web servers and HD DV delivery.

As an Apple Authorised Training Centre (AATC), we will showcase the Apple certified Mac OS X courses that enable you to run efficient operations and immediately improve the quality of your IT services. The courses are for anyone who is responsible for planning, maintaining, and integrating Mac OS X workstations and solutions using Mac OS X Server and other Apple technologies into your various network environments.

Questions

Finally, Pete & Leo will answer your questions and you will have an opportunity to get hands on with both the new Apple Xserve & Xserve RAID.

Are we to assume that this is being held in East Sussex at their company address?

The seminar information is a little skant on details of location ;)

Yes ... pretty much all of there sessions are hosted at their company address ... they are pretty much the main Education Trainer for Apple now (Amsys tend to do commercial and design companies) ... as well as doing distance learning courses.
