We have a xserve intergrated with our AD but whenever we logon as any students we get the following message

The home folder for the user is located in the usual place or cannot be accessed.

But when we add any students to out our All Teachers security and login with it works fine.

Also it only works by adding them to this All Teachers security group so if we add make them a member of any other security groups it doesnt work.

When they log in, are you using network home folders, a mobile account with network home folder, or a local home template? Are your Macs bound to Active Directory, Open Directory, or both?

If OD, it's possible your mobile account creation settings are different for the student and teacher groups, so you might check that in Workgroup Manager.

Yeah. They at least need permission to 'list folder contents' from the root share to their own home folders.
