cantthinkofanickname Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Can SBS 2008 server be run on an unused 32bit 1Ghz PC? The spec. seems to imply it needed 64bit whatever that is.
FN-GM Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 If its Server 2008 R2 you need a 64 bit CPU. I think 32 bit 2008 will struggle on that anyway.
cantthinkofanickname Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 OK thanks, I'll go and search for one of these. I heard that SBS 2003 does not integrate with Windows 7 very well - that server is another option. Anyone with experience there?
FN-GM Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 It depends what you want to do? What do you want to intergrate? If you just want basic logins it will work fine.
cantthinkofanickname Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Exchange Server 2007 for Outlook email, messaging, personal information management, and shared calendaring. I expect to backup files from those PCs and have a common file server for common documentation on the server.
