Roll back to IE7 from IE8 across network?

We are having big problems with IE8 rendering pages incorrectly. For example youtube would look more like a mobile phone site. To correct this users have to click the compatability button next to the refresh button. A bit of a pita. I'm trying to find a way to roll back to IE7 using gpo or scripts and have found nothing so far. My alternative is to edit my images and reimage all my clients, which is a daunting task!

 

Anyone else done this?

There are some useful policies for this

 

User Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Compatibility View

 

If you cannot see this, makes sure you're using the latest IE8 inetres.adm file.
