setting record device/volume

does anyone know a way i can force the microphone to be the default recording device ans shove its volume up to 100%. Nircmd will allow output volume but cant see a way of setting this short of visiting all pcs

Hi there, does anyone know a way to disable/enable the microphone boost in windows xp using the command line? i need to turn it on/off quickly when receiving a call, using the mixer utility takes too long, so i need a command line solution. thank you
