Hi Guys,

Sorry but i have searched tinternet for this and it seems like a retarded question, but how do i know which tape DPM wants tonight.

it was alright to start because it obviously wanted blanks, and it is quite happy to tell me after the event I have used the wrong tape, but how do i find out before?

I can't believe I'm even asking.

You can run a tape management report.

Got this from technet:

When the data on a tape expires, return the tape to the tape library for reuse. Expired tapes that have not been returned to the tape library will be marked as "overdue" in the Tape Management Report.

Personally I didn't like the way DPM handles tapes, it seemed to be all a bit random. I switch to backup execm for tape backups. However, I can't fault DPM for disk-disk backup.
