Ok the time of year has arrived when I have to think of projects to bid for.

Currently we have well maintained servers (no need to upgrade them)

Other than planned upgrade of workstations (no need to bid for more)

Currently running windows 2008 r2 and windows 7 (no need to bid for more money on that behalf)

Have good home access solutions (no need to bid)

Have some signage but (will bid for more.)

Have open wifi hotspots (will bid for more of these)

Thought about thoutch screens?

My question really is has anyone else got any thoughts of added extras that would enhance the school that I can’t think of?

Maybe a TV studio…. Any other random suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jealous :(

Do you have a good music department? Recording studio? Student radio with shoutcast?

Music department have just had a new suit last year. We have a student radio and potentially investing in a TV studio this year.

I honestly can’t think of anything else to offer. However the management want something innovative and amassing.

Printers?

IWB/Projector Updates, maybe a new Audio Visual system for the Hall.

Video editing suite would be useful if you think the school would use it.

Here are some off the wall crazy ideas if you have money to burn:

Depending on the level of school you could look into a 3D printer Main Page - Fab @ Home

You could also make a cave

UM3D Lab: Virtual Reality CAVE

[ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_Automatic_Virtual_Environment]Cave Automatic Virtual Environment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

For science you could look at a distributed sensor grid to measure temperature and humidity conditions throughout the school in order to see in real time the habitability of areas of the school. This could also help save power.

Along that line you could also bid for a solar array to help power your server room/computers to make it greener + long term investment in less power. You could also look at a small wind turbine, with full monitering this would even be educational :)

Distributed control of your projectors and perhaps even lighting again to save power and automate lamp life reporting and projector power switching all over the network.

New/upgraded phone system to allow for unified communications with Exchange 2010 and Live Communications Server.

Most are probably way outside the scope but might help with other ideas.
