Hi guys

Right we use Impero Remote Software on our network

New version has came out today.... finally.... :)

Problem is, this was deployed using managed software

So I decided to remove the old version from the list of managed software

Now everytime a computer starts up that has Impero, it starts to remove it, but it says there, on that message

I can manually remove it from the computer (Have to take network cable out, and reboot, so it doesnt start trying to uninstall again)

Anyway to get this to removed? without going to every single computer and laptop

Managed to sort out three rooms, but still have more to do, dont fancy going round any more

Check the event log of one of the messed up machines to see it it gives you any hints as to why it is messing up. Often irritable control software (like nortons AV) requires an unsintall authorization from the server software or a password. Some of the time they get around this by providing an uninstall tool or updates that can overwrite without permission but given the processing order of GP software deployment if there is a way to do it centrally it would need to be added as a machine script to get in before GPO software. As it has collected the commands from AD and is already attempting them I am unsure whether even a machine script will preemt the GP command. You may end up having to do it manually :(

Yer had to do it all manually

Kinda cheated in some rooms, were gonna reload a few room and all the laptops with windows 7

Ones that are not reloaded, we had to turn of the switch (Much easier than taking the network cables out) That was so the policy would not tell it to uninstall it. So then we could logon and uninstall it manually. Still was a pain to do that, couldnt be asked to do all the computers today. Just turned the switch off in two rooms, waited for it to logon and then turned it backon

All the laptops are gonna get reloaded, so thought its not worth the effort, just told the teachers they will have to turn the wireless switch off, wait for everything to load up and turn it back on again
