rocknrollstar Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Hi, this is my first time using xcalcs. I have a folder c:\shortcuts that I want to make read and execute for all users on the domain, and full access for teachers and admins. I really need a command line that I can put in a batch file to run in a GPO. I've downloaded the xcalcs.vbs, but can't really work out the parameters, particularly if I need authenticated users R/E and teachers/admins full access. Needs to recurse into subdirectories too! Thanks in advance.
notalot Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) You'll need to test this before using it but copy "\\server\Xcacls.vbs" "c:\" cscript c:\xcacls.vbs c:\folder /E /p "Authenticated users":re;re cscript c:\xcacls.vbs c:\folder /E /p "Domain\Staff":f;f cscript c:\xcacls.vbs c:\folder /E /p "Domain\domain Admins":f;f del c:\xcacls.vbs /s /q Just change the bold bits to what you need, ive not had much luck running Xcacls from a network shair also never tried it in a GPO let me know if it works. rocknrollstar Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 Thank notalot. Worked like a charm! Although the line#: cscript c:\xcacls.vbs c:\folder /E /p "Authenticated users":re;re needs to read cscript c:\xcacls.vbs c:\folder /E /p "Authenticated users":X Thanks again- couldn't have done it on my own
