Hi

I have a couple of web pages which have ad areas on. At the momment they auth to there own users system. How can i get it to auth to a AD. The web site is hosted on a windows domain in iis 7.

I dont want all the user to auth to it just only when they click the admin bit.

First, configure the IIS site to require authentication (found simply under 'Authentication' in the IIS section), preferably using Windows Authentication so that IE can pass the AD credentials through from the workstation logon which avoid the user having to log in again. You can configure that on an individual folder if you don't want to authenticate the whole site.

If the pages are using ASP.NET then you can use the System.Web.UI.Page.User property to retrieve the user's logon details. If they are not, you'll have to consult the documentation for whatever language they are using to see what support there is for retrieving auth information from IIS.
