tonyd Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Hey guys, have any one any ideas where (or advertisors have in stock) I can get something like this, for the same sort of money: ALDI - Thursday Special Buys 7th January 2010 I though it sounded like a good deal, nice spec PC for a nice price - sadly so did everyone else and the sold them all this morning! Soooo, having failed to get one of these to take home with me to day, to replace a failing PC my wife runs her business with, and having looked at the usual E-Buyer, Dabs, etc, can anyone help match this deal? I guess it must be possible, or was it simply a loss leader to make me advertise Aldi on here?...
Haptic Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 or was it simply a loss leader to make me advertise Aldi on here?... you got it one fella
kmount Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Really tempted by one of these... Would like to know which Q8300 it is though to see if it has VT support or not. linky.
AyatollahPies Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Were it not for building a new PC in the summer, I would probably have bought* one from Aldi today. Think it's a cracking deal for off the shelf. *Well, queued in the freezing cold and the snow with other hoards until the doors opened at 9am and everyone ran like madmen to the tills.
localzuk Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Closest I can find that sort of spec for is > £500 at Ebuyer. Definitely a loss leader.
Haptic Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 yep nothing close to it our end fella sorry we cant help
Haptic Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 BUT, my hunting has found this on misco, lol comes to something when im advertising a competitor lol Acer Veriton M464 Tower PC OPEN BOX - Misco.co.uk
srochford Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Closest I can find that sort of spec for is > £500 at Ebuyer. Definitely a loss leader. It's a pretty amazing loss leader! Selling a loaf of bread at a loss is generally not going to lose the supermarket money - people don't go just to buy the bread, they buy other things as well and may end up spending even more than they intended. Selling a PC at (say) £150 loss seems a bit extreme - you've got to buy an awful lot of beans to make up for that :-)
m25man Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I got some Fujitsu Amilio Pro's last week 2.4 QC 4gb 1TB HDD with 4800 512mb HDMI graphics card and BlueRay R/W £519 Inc vat and delivery. Cracking deal, someone must still have some.
