does anybody know of/have an mpeg2 codec msi?

Best bet is to repackage an setup from exe to msi like for example you could use this codec pack

 

CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

 

Install the features you need (Can be just mpeg 2 codec or more if you want, just select the features you want)

 

For repackaging software, I use 'Admin Studio' trial, all features work during the trial

 

 

Dont think there are any msi mpeg2 codecs installers, so best option is to repackage, hope that helps you mate

You might want to consider that there - AFAIK - no free AND legal mpeg2 codecs available

Thanks, I will give it a go, i have made packages before, i just couldn't be bothered having spent 6 hours trying to fix something that was a tick box!!!

Thats another good thing about Windows 7

 

Comes with a dvd decoder, so no need to worry about that with Windows 7
