sidewinder Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Increasing problem here with the number of mapped drives, when someone puts in a pen drive, it often takes a network drive letter and so cant be seen until it is changed in disk mangement. Happens a lot with laptops that have card readers Why does it allow this to happen and what can I do to stop it happening? I really dont see why Windows doesnt stop the use of drive letters that are obviously being used
plexer Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 install usbdlm on them then you can force them to a letter of your choice. also works great with multi slot card readers moutns a letter only when a card is inserted or mounts them to a folder. Ben
mrtechsystems Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Interesting Thanks just looking into this
