PEO Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I'm in the proccess of finishing a website for a childminding service. I need some photos of kids having fun etc. Now the childminding service has concent from the parents to use photos for the website, but their a bit pants... very boring etc. so I was having a look at istockphoto.com for kids having fun type photos. I have spoted some excellent photos of kids painting and dressing in indian costumes etc which would fit perfectly. My main concern is, can I use these photos on the site? cheers Kev
Guest Biccies Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 If you pay the royalty fees then yes, you can. That's what they're there for
powdarrmonkey Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 And as long as you aren't using them to give a misleading impression of the service you are selling, of course. Or Anne Robinson will shout and glare at you. 1

PEO Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 I had a feeling it would be ok, just don't want to get a kicking. Thank you for the quick responce
Guest Biccies Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I've not used istockphoto.com myself, so I'd just have a quick check of the terms for the images. Usually if you pay royalities they let you do what you want with it- but just double check you're allowed to use the images for commercial purposes. Like I say, usually fine- but always best to cover ones arse.
Martin Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Stock.XCHNG have loads of free images (despite now being owned by Getty Images). Far safer than "chancing it" with stuff that you are supposed to pay for! mb 1
