SteveBentley Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I've got one of these Rextron Technology, Inc. but recently took delivery of a nice new machine which nas no PS/2 ports. So I ordered one of these Belkin USB to PS2 adapter x 2 devices - Misco.co.uk and I can't get them to play nicely. Plugging a keyboard and mouse directly into the adapter works fine, but plugging the KVM output through it doesn't get anything, not even the caps lock light on the keyboard. Have I overlooked something or am I in the market for a new KVM with USB ports?
srochford Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Bitter past experience shows that you may need to get a new KVM - some machines just won't play with the USB to PS/2 adapters. One thing to try (which you may have done already!) is to make sure that the KVM is set to the right channel when you switch on the computer (if if you're plugging into socket 1, make sure that the KVM is set for socket 1 although sometimes you can't select a channel when there's nothing plugged in ...) 1
SpuffMonkey Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Get one of the Startech USB KVMs - they're fine - about £60 for a 4 port from Dabs 1
SteveBentley Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 Thanks both, that's the conclusion I'd come to, but good to get other opinions!
