marvin Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Hi I am having an issue with a vista business machine in school. Basically we have activated active desktop via GPO and everything is fine on all xp curriculum and admin machines apart from this vista machine. It displays a black backgound when user logs on, presumably something to do with the vista settings as we are using 2003 server? Any suggestions?
tommccann Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 active desktop doesnt work in Vista im sure it doesnt
computer_expert Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 the black wallpaper can mean that the machine has failed activation/or is running a dodgy copy. i don't think that active desktop works in vista either
tommccann Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) Nope it doesnt got replaced by the side bar apparently [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Desktop]Look Here[/ame] Just disable the GPO on the one Vista machine and set it manually, wont take long Edited December 2, 2009 by tommccann
