Moodle LDAP Problem

Hi,

 

We have a strange problem here...

 

We currently have Moodle setup for all users (pupils and staff) in our main curriculum domain, using LDAP. This seems to be working fine, and all pupils and teaching staff can login correctly.

 

We also have a small admin domain with approx 30 users on it. They also have matching usernames and passwords on the curriculum domain, (for ease of setup with our exchange server).

 

However, they cannot login to moodle at all, which is currently confusing (using the curriculum domain credentials - matching the admin domain credentials, apart from the domain name). The OU they are in, is a sub OU of the Staff OU, which all other staff are in (which are working). I have checked their accounts, and they do not have any "logon to" restrictions in place. They also have all the necessary account fields filled in correctly.

 

I have checked that search subcontexts is on within Moodle's LDAP settings, so it should be finding their accounts correctly.

 

I have also tried logging into moodle on a curriculum workstation (if it was somekind of block on the domain trust), but that is not working either (but I was worried about home access, since this would be a problem for users at home, if only this had worked).

 

Any other ideas?

If you create a new account in the sub ou does that work?

Tried, this, and no joy. Even added the user to all the normal security groups, as a working staff member.

 

I even tried logging onto the domain, in case it was looking for some sort of timestamp on the user account, to be updated, but no joy...:confused:

If you only have ou=staff,dc=chase,dc=local with the sub contexts does it work? (can't see what the next one is, guessing students)

Yes the next line refers the pupil OU, but all their accounts are working, its just these couple of admin users that won't work! I can even log on to a curriciulum domain with the non-working moodle user, and can do all the normal stuff, that any user does.

 

I even created a new user, and move it to the non-working OU, so I presume that their is something wrong with the non-moodle working account.

Fixed it, it was to do with names, matching usernames in AD. Sorted it, but thanks for your help!
