Junior Librarian

We're using Junior Librarian v3.2.2.25 and since adding a number of books to the catalogue the system seems very slow and unresponsive. We have 8300 books on the system with around 700 users and I've replaced both computers in the library for new ones but still the system is sluggish. The data\library.mdb file is 12MB

 

I know Junior Librarian uses an Access database and I was wondering if this was the cause of the problem?

 

Is there anything I could try to speed things up?

Does anybody know what the Junior Librarian database password is? I have a feeling Microlib are not going to make it public!

I'm not in school at present but I believe there's an option in the admin settings for rebuilding the database.

I've found housekeeping which has shrunk the database from 12MB to 10.7MB. I see how it goes tomorrow when the library is open again.

Don't suppose anyone knows what the latest version of Eclipse2 is?

Slowness could also be caused by your AV software, try excluding the database from live scans.

we had junior librarian running very very slowly until we installed the most recent update. Works a charm now (our database is near 50mb or so, and thats after housecleaning it!)

I've found we only get the problem when there is more than one computer running junior librarian at the same time. I've emailed Microlib but have yet to receive a reply.
