Potato-Peeler Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 We use Ppopup.exe to make sure kids dont print out lots of colour, and it normally works. In a new computer suite it doesn't. So we have rebuilt the image, and it will work as an admin but not as a teacher When i print ppopup comes up and asks for a user name and password as supposed to. As a kid nothing. Any got any ideas please?
Edu-IT Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Is the place where you've put ppopup.exe accessible by students? Any software restriction policies in place? Try browsing to the location where ppopup.exe is located and running it manually from there to see what errors you get.
Potato-Peeler Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Ppopup is just on the C: drive. You can see it running in the right hand corner, but it does not come up when you try and print. I als o gave a student account admin right which did nothing

Potato-Peeler Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Theres a box for enable popup and that is ticked.
Cache Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 If I remember rightly on ppopup there is also an option to select which servers to poll, is your print server selected for the student account?
Edu-IT Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I'll check my installation tomorrow but I'm sure there's also a way to enable/disable the popup message for different users.
