We plan to host two virtual machines and have users connect externally through the remote desktop services. Also to publish applications via the web access site. will we need specific licenses above our CAL's we already have in place.

We have previously just published a Terminal Server through ISA and have them remote to that single server.

Do you have per user or per device licensing?

From what I understand from my discussions with our Licensing provider, you should already have licensing in place for the published server to allow people to access remotely - either per device or per user.

Your best bet would be to chat to the people you buy your licensing off, and work out with them what you need.

Edit: Also, what CALs do you currently have in place, and who will need to access the services (staff, students, external parties)?
