How do you do it - run your own business?

I've been there, done it, got the T-shirt, the extended working hours, sleepless nights thinking about a critical server rebuild that just won't go right, the ill health and learnt some very valuable lessons...

 

I'd do it all over again, if I had to, and I would do a lot of things differently.

 

But for those of you who might be thinking of doing it 'because you can', how does this guide add up?

I've not looked at it, because I'm not even thinking about going solo, so some of the advice therein might be all but useless, and I think it's aimed at the US market (?)

 

But then again, to those of you who might be thinking of going alone, it could be an invaluable guide to 'how do you do it'... 'cos it's not all about fixing computers.

In general it is sound advice, and I downloaded the BOOT Disk which works a charm (will defo be using that in the future).

Wow. I'm amazed by the amount of info available there. I think I'll try and assemble a toolkit like what he uses.

 

I've been thinking about branching out on my own and having my own little shop somewhere but I don't think now is the right time for me. Although if I do it in future this guide will definitely be a reference for me.
