Noisy CPU fan

Hi everyone,

 

i have a machine at home in which the CPU fan is making a racket. i think it may be the bearings causing the noise so i googled it and it was suggested to oil the fan's bearings. i was going to use WD40, but it's not recommended and i was wondering what type of oil would be the best to use?

 

I know i could easily replace the fan, but i'd like to try and keep the current one going until i can get a new fan within the next few weeks.

I'd suggest sewing machine oil as it's pretty light. You will probably need to puncture the label to get the oil to the bearings. Needle Point Oiler : Precision Tools : Maplin Needle Point Oiler Cheap Deals this may do the trick.
