OllieC Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Hey all, we're looking to set a wallpaper for students to use on our thin clients that now connect directly to the server. Any ideas for what to use? I was thinking perhaps gettings some decent photos of the school (perhaps HDR) and whacking the logo in the corner then setting that, we could have a few and cycle them or is there any way to allow students access to a resticted desktop properties that will allow them to choose out of a list of ones we specify? Anywhoo, the question is, what do you guys do for wallpapers/desktop backgrounds if you use them? wOllie.
BrianG Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 We just use the schools logo as the background, centred. It's not exactly the most exciting of desktops but it's quick to load. We've got two versions, a Staff desktop wallpaper and a Student Desktop wallpaper
Ric_ Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 We use the school logo in the bottom-right of the screen (with a glass table effect). It looks nice and doesn't use up too much bandwidth on our thin clients.
K.C.Leblanc Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 We're really lazy here. Most of our computers have the manufacturer's wallpaper or a blank desktop.
OllieC Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) It was a either a blue or grey here until now but I want something a bit nicer. Thought it would be really good if we could give the students a choice out of a few that we add. Edited October 26, 2009 by OllieC
