greeng Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Sorry guys, I am new to Joomla etc. so please bear with me. Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding the following questions: I would like to change the title of Frontpage but cannot find it. It always stays "Welcome to Frontpage". Second: Where do I edit the main banner and logo images? I cannot find it, neither in the CSS nor in the backend. Does anyone have a help file on this particular Joomla package? All comments appreciated as feeling lost. Cheers
greeng Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Also, the Media Manager seems not to be working as nothing happens when pressing any button
mossj Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 To change the images, you need to look in template/*templateyourusing*/images To change the frontpage title I believe you have to download a SEO extention from the extensions repository @ Joomla!
greeng Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Hi mossj Thanks.for your help Is there no way to simply upload a new logo and set a link to it? Where are the CSS for the banners?
mossj Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 CSS for banners template/*templateyourusing*/css Images for banners template/*templateyourusing*/images (just replace the default images in there much easier) template template/*templateyourusing*/index.php
greeng Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Thanks a lot again. One more thing to get me on the way: I want to move around the main menu elements - Home - News - .... and give them background colours etc etc. - how can I manage that?
HodgeHi Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 The welcome to the front page is found in the control panel. There's a thread telling exactly where it is somewhere on this forum. I think it was simplesi who gave the information.

Also look in the menu manager for the menu items and css for the backgrounds.

Changing the font size will require editing the template css. Jeff

There are some who visit the forum who are far more knowledgeable than I. But, I believe that you need to edit the template.css file that is located in the directory of the template that you have set as default template. Example: \templates\axe_rescheek_blue\css\template.css Make sense? Jeff
greeng Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 cheers i've tried the template.css before. unfortunately, i cannote locate any menu info.... any ideas?

greeng Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 I tried to upload a new template via the extension manager However, I get the following error: Warning! Failed to move file! What is wrong?
rush_tech Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 just FTP you new template folder onto your webserver into the templates folder.
greeng Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 I've tried that, it only came up with another error "Restricted access" when I tried to show the website. In the extension manager it showed a "red cross"
jeffy Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I've tried that, it only came up with another error "Restricted access" when I tried to show the website. In the extension manager it showed a "red cross" Do you mean that you see a red cross under the compatibility column? If so, the template may be for Joomla 1.0 and not compatible with Joomla 1.5.
