Hi

 

I have two networks set up at a school, One is curriculum and the other is Admin

 

I have two NICs on the curriculum DC and thought I would configure the non-used one for the admin range, thereby giving access to curriculum resorces/file to admin staff...

 

This does work well but whenever the admin NIC is enabled the curriculum workstations no-longer recieve an ip address from DHCP (invaild ip)?

 

any ideas?

Probably a DHCP conflict - I would'nt try this anyway as I think it would make your network schizophrenic.

The way to tackle this is via Domain trusts and NTFS permissions. This way you can set up the networks for one way or two way traffic without disturbing the set up of each domain.

We do this at the school with a one way trust that allows admin users access to curriculum resources but not not the other way.

that sounds like the way forward, how to I go about setting up a one way trust?
