Jobs chat ?

Given the public chastising by a moderator in the IT Jobs forum, is there a way to propose a new forum for jobs chat?

Where are we to discuss jobs advertised, or even those we do, specifically?

It's all very well having a "red door" forum, and "general chat" but they are too generic. I think we need to have a forum that deals specifically with discussions about job adverts, job descriptions, salaries and existing jobs (i.e. is the job you do now the job you actually applied for, how has it changed etc) or employment within IT.

Therefore I propose a new forum be created "Job Chat"

What do you think?

Yes, not a bad idea at all. It could definitely stop the griping.

Admins??

It won't stop the griping, in fact I think so long as the "griping" is done constructively, it can be quite healthy to have; however, what is currently wrong, is that it takes place in the forum where the jobs are advertised, and that then detracts attention away from the original advert itself.

I'm all for a bit of 'debate' over jobs in education, and even a gripe or two, but in the right place.

Perhaps, when jobs are posted to the "jobs" forum, the message signature could clearly state that discussion on the post in question can take place in the newly created "Jobs Chat"?

I've made the proposal, let's see what happens.

I think you've made a mistake with the punctuation, it should read:

It could definitely stop the griping Admins!!

:feedtroll: :troll: Its amazing what removing a full stop can do to a sentence.
