HP Pavillion dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 beeping when turning on...

Does anyone know of a fix for the 'HP Pavillion dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 beeping when turning on...'?

 

We have a laptop which has one long beep when turning on, followed by 2 short ones, after which it turns off.

 

Pretty much what is described here -

The only problem is, the laptops serial number is not listed on the HP extended warranty site and is out of warranty. I have tried the BIOS update, which seems to let it boot more often than it did, but the issue has not completely gone away.

 

Anyone else know of a solution for this?

That seems very similar to the original one which I posted if i'm not mistaken?

The link i posted was to the UK site, i read your original post as you saying you were unable to find your model, i wondered if it was because you were looking at the US version of the site.
