HP2600n printing in black but not colour

Our HP 2600N had magenta problems - faded both sides so after much research we took it to pieces and cleaned the laser scanner unit. Put it back together, it wouldn't work, got a 53.23 error (I think!) which meant that the cyan laser/scanner wasn't working. Pretty sure this was a flat wire problem so took it apart again, stuck all wires in.

 

Now its back together it prints but only in mono!!!!! We are desperate to sort it out - we are a small primary school that has just bought a whole new set of toners at cost of £160 and we simply can't afford to buy a new printer AND new toners now. If anyone knows of a way of fixing this problem, please, please can you let us know - I've calibrated it and it makes no difference.

Whereabouts are you located? We have stoppe using our 2600s because they are just too expensive to run except to do the annual reports. If you are close enough we might be able to loan you one to use up the toner. In the meantime, look for a more cost effective printer.
